We had a hygienist check up for my dad and then Dr.Ruby came in for evaluation. Everyone is really nice and warm from front desk go hygienist. Dr. Ruby is very considerate, authentic and honest. Periodontal treatment is designed to remove plaque, tartar, and bacteria from around and under your gumline that’s causing gum disease. Your hygienist or dentist will use special instruments to carefully get your gums back into shape, or they will use a gentle laser to remove damaged gum tissue and seal your gums back at the same time. We can also provide PerioProtect™ trays which deliver medication to treat your gum disease.
At our practice, gum disease treatment isn’t painful at all. That’s because we use a laser. If we need to remove diseased gum tissue as part of your treatment, the laser makes it quick and simple. There’s no need for cutting or stitches. Most patients need no more than local anesthesia to stay comfortable.
The best way to avoid gum disease is by practicing good oral hygiene, brushing twice a day and flossing daily as well. It’s also important to visit your dentist for professional dental cleanings at least twice a year. Since smokers are more likely to get gum disease, you’ll lessen your risk if you stop smoking. If you notice any signs of gum disease, notify your dentist right away. Treating it in its early stages will enable you to avoid the tooth loss that can result from advanced gum disease.
